New shoes! My go-to black booties were falling apart, so I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair to replace them. I was settled on something totally different, but a [brilliant] friend suggested Senso Qimats instead, and I immediately fell in love. Now I pretty much want every pair of shoes they make.
When choosing staple shoes, I look for simple, elegantly-designed, somewhat androgynous styles. I’m not generally interested in overly frilly, girly shoes, especially not when it comes to the pairs I’m going to be wearing regularly. These are perfect because they’re interesting and they’ll go with everything. Plus they’re incredibly comfortable- which is important because I walk everywhere and SF hills are no joke.

I’m very into sheer, gauzy blouses. About half my wardrobe is see-through at this point.

The last few days of vacation were great, we went to more beaches, ate more seafood and wandered around the marina. Normally I’m not one for beach vacations, but after the last year and a half in San Francisco I can actually appreciate an entire week of nothing but sunshine and quiet.
Oh, and we met a lion cub named Alex.

Vacation has been glorious so far. Derrick and I have essentially done nothing but read on the beach and eat seafood.
I’m a big believer in packing light, so whenever I travel I try to stick to the basics for my wardrobe- lots of simple but interesting pieces in black, and a few key accessories. I’m especially in love with the Mandalynn suit, it’s my first one-piece and it makes me feel so elegant and grown up.
