I love plaid things.  I love see-through things.  I also really love things I can wear for multiple seasons.  These are great for warm weather, but could easily be layered for fall.  Perfect.

Untitled-1Very into swingy little skirts right now.  A year ago I wouldn’t have left the house after 5 pm without tights, but I think I’ve finally gotten acclimated to the ever-present wind in this city.

zuzanna-bijoch-vogue-latin-america8zuzanna-bijoch-vogue-latin-america4I love these intricate, green and neutral prints by Kenzo (top photo) and Honor, I feel like it’s a more sophisticated option for matching head-to-toe.  I shy away from a lot of bigger, simpler prints because I don’t like anything that feels too girlish and trendy.  These manage to be on-trend but still sophisticated.

it’s Alexander Wang’s fault if I cut my bangs again.

AWOnly Alexander Wang could make me appreciate a pair of oversized, pink pleated pants.

summer staples: the floral romper

8 Jun

IMG_2203IMG_2204Normally I despise the color pink, but I love this romper in spite of it.  It’s perfect for summer, and I adore anything with a halter neckline.  SF micro-climates make it impossible to leave the house without an extra layer, so I brought along a chunky sweater as well.

This week I discovered just how much of a coffee snob I’ve become.  I bought some cheap espresso from TJ’s, thinking I could save myself $8 and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.  It was so bitter and disgusting, I wound up trying to drink it in one gulp, like a shot of whiskey.  So this morning we walked down to Blue Bottle and bought real espresso to replace it.  Lesson learned:  don’t get stingy on coffee.

a Björk sighting & a Levi’s party

My first celebrity sighting happened this week:  We went hiking to Alamere Falls on Memorial Day, and on our way back from the falls, we saw Björk on the trail.  Like, the Björk.  Just out hiking with a small group of people.  She was beautiful and gave us the warmest smiles.  Made my day.

I wore this Thursday night.  We went to the Levi’s x LOOKBOOK Global Style Party.  They had little DIY stations set up where you could customize your own Levi’s, and even though we failed to bring our jeans (because we’re irresponsible like that), I got lots of good inspo for future projects.
