I have little to no control over how my hair looks on a day to day basis. I don’t know a thing about styling it and I mostly don’t care. Sometimes I get fancy and try to do braids, but generally I live with perpetual bedhead and just tell myself it’s sexy that way. Yesterday it was especially tangled and big, so I decided to be a bit 80’s and do an off-the-shoulder look with this Amatoria sweater and a leather skirt.
I’m in Vegas this week for Magic Market. Today was chaotic, so now I’m hiding out in my hotel room and ordering room service to recover. Tomorrow I get to hit Platform, so keep an eye on my instagram for some shoe porn.

Obviously, they’re sleeker & sexier, there’s no velcro, and they’re made of leather instead of rubber, but I can’t look at these and not think of Adidas flip flops.
Nevertheless, I kind of like them. For a girl who was once willing to do virtually anything to get out of P.E., I’m surprisingly infatuated with sporty footwear right now. I mean, hey, comfy shoes are in! And I don’t have to feel bad about buying the cheap versions since the expensive ones are actually kind of the knockoffs this time! But I’m also trying really hard not to participate in flash-in-the-pan trends that I may or may not only be into because they’ve become ubiquitous in ad campaigns and my eyes are used to them.
I’ve been searching for a gray, menswear-esque coat all winter, but I’ve been really picky about it and never found one that felt just right. Then Monica of Amatoria Clothing made this one, and she shipped it to me to borrow without my even asking her. It’s like she read my mind, because this coat is everything I wanted and more. The tweed is a gorgeous mix of gray and blue, it has leather details at the collar and pockets, and the shoulders have just the right amount of padding. I’m in love. Sadly, it’s only on loan, so I’m sending it back this week, though I did seriously consider stealing it forever.
February is here, which means Magic Market Week is coming up, and I’ve got a lot of prep work to do in the meantime. Budgets, lists, etc. It’s my fifth time attending. The whole thing can be overwhelming and exhausting, but I still really love going. It’s nice to work with all the vendors face-to-face, and frankly, ogling samples just doesn’t get old for me. I always come back with a better idea of what I’m going to want in my wardrobe for the next season.
